The company Siemens is finalizing the work to make the catenary operational, to which the trucks that work with electricity will be hooked. The first vehicles that are circulating along the section in the testing phase are Scania brand units, equipped with an intelligent pantograph that detects the presence of a catenary and connects to it. The rest of the time the truck runs on conventional diesel, although Scania intends to combine electricity with other fuels such as natural gas or hydrogen.
There is a project similar to this one to link the port of Los Angeles with Long Beach, in California (USA) in which Siemens is working with Volvo. It has also been considered to enable an experimental electrified section in Spain, taking advantage of the implementation of a new high voltage line between Peñalba (Huesca) and Isona (Lleida).
According to experts, trucks connected to catenaries are the future of road transport because they reduce energy consumption by 50% and also polluting emissions into the atmosphere. The project is therefore a first step to implement "zero emissions" in the road transport sector, something that Sweden has set out to achieve by 2030.
In recambiosdelcamion.com and Recambios España are also committed to reducing fuel consumption and reducing smoke emissions. For this reason we have added a new product to our catalog: Dyno-Tab fuel additive tablets, which meet these environmental requirements and also increase the power of the vehicle and keep the injectors clean, reducing carbon. The products are available in various formats from 3.75 euros.
