Reconverting Ávila into a spare parts and truck parts plant requires a union agreement

May 19, 2017
The recent announcement of the reconversion of the truck manufacturing plant that Nissan (Renault group) has in Ávila into a factory specializing in the production and distribution of spare parts and truck parts for the two brands is going to lead to a negotiation between the company and unions to avoid job losses and the possible closure of the factory. The news comes coinciding with the offer of spare parts of the truck with Cepsa lubricants, especially recommended for Renault and Nissan trucks.
Reconverting Ávila into a spare parts and truck parts plant requires a union agreement

The Japanese brand is open to negotiation and the first meetings with the unions have ended with moderate satisfaction in the works council. Nissan's management wants a short negotiation that allows the planned works and the pertinent investments reconvert the Avila production plant into a serial production line for spare parts and truck parts as soon as possible. The company has made it clear that the lack of agreement with the unions would lead to "the closure of the Ávila factory without alternatives."

The Japanese manufacturer has chosen to stop producing light trucks despite the fact that it had promised to move the construction of the NT500 to the Castilian factory. But the drop in sales of professional vehicles in this segment has made the project unfeasible. In return, the Ávila plant will manufacture spare parts for Nissan and also for Renault and will include some references that are currently produced in Russia. The plan would ensure the jobs of the current 471 employees and could even raise the workforce above 500 workers in the coming years (2020-2022).  The underlying union problem is that the workers would be governed by the Renault collective agreement, which supposes a salary decrease of 15% with respect to Nissan salaries.

To compensate the loss of purchasing power of the workforce,  Nissan is going to offer its employees the difference in emoluments of about 30 months or so and proposes to those who do not accept these new low incentive conditions up to 50 months of compensation. The agreement must be reached quickly because the production of components should begin in 2020.

While we hope that the negotiations come to a successful conclusion, from recambiosdelcamion.com we have put The pack of five units of Eurotech 10W40 LS Plus synthetic oil from Cepsa is on sale, one of the lubricants that Renault and Nissan recommend for a large part of their vehicle fleet, with an 18% discount. Eurotech LS plus is a very high-quality synthetic lubricant that is specially designed for diesel-powered heavy trucks, coaches, buses and construction machinery and is highly recommended for Euro 6 and earlier type engines, also for Mercedes Benz units. , Man and Volvo.
