Radars will detect speeding in trucks and vans.

Jan. 29, 2015
The current radars of the Spanish road network do not distinguish between transport vehicles and passenger cars and only penalize speeding when the limit allowed for cars is exceeded. But the situation will change.
Radars will detect speeding in trucks and vans.

Until now, the radars of the Spanish road network (both fixed and mobile) only detected excesses of the speed limit marked for passenger cars but not that of trucks, buses, vans and industrial vehicles that have a speed limit inside. However, from now on the radars will detect specific speeding, as announced by the General Directorate of Traffic. However, it is still unknown when the radars will be modified so that they distinguish between one type of vehicle or another and specifically penalize heavy and transport vehicles.

According to the current traffic regulations, trucks They must circulate on the highway at 90 kilometers per hour and mixed vehicles, vans and buses at 100 km/h. On conventional roads with a hard shoulder 1.5 meters wide and more than one lane in some direction, trucks and vans must circulate at 80 and mixed vehicles at 90. On other interurban roads, trucks cannot exceed 70 km/h and vans, 80 km/h.

The recommended thing to avoid sanctions would be on the one hand to respect the "special" limits and on the other not to forget that in the back of the vehicles they must show off signs that indicate the specific maximum speed of the truck or van, products that are part of the Recambiosdelcamion.com and Recambios España catalogue.. ·
