The German manufacturer of the three-pointed star has recently announced that the Urban etruck has already managed to pass its first technical tests and that the time has come to start studying how it behaves in real traffic. That is why an experimental test has been launched in which 20 companies participate that will allow the first units in the form of fleets to circulate through the German streets throughout this year 2017. In this first study of real tests, the behavior of the truck and its systems will be analyzed.
The Urban eTruck has beaten the first electric Tesla when it comes to field tests. According to Mercedes Benz, the brand's first electric truck has a range of up to 200 kilometers per recharge, which would allow practically a working day to be carried out in an urban environment. The German electric truck is capable of transporting up to 26 tons of cargo. One of the peculiarities of the vehicle is that it will be delivered to its buyers along with a tablet that will be connected to the truck's control systems. In this way, the driver will be able to know at all times the level of charge in the battery, the weight, the conditions of the terrain and, most importantly, will be able to determine if the charge is sufficient to reach the destination by simply entering the data of the route. In addition, the operator will be able to recalculate the route and adjust it to the load to prevent the truck from standing still during the journey.
Coinciding with the launch of the Urban eTruck, Recambiosdelcamion.com has put on sale the entire range of Tudor Exide battery chargers, in a nod to the achievement of Mercedes Benz. Thus, professional chargers from 12 volts to 15 amps, 7 amps and 4 amps have an average reduction of 20%, going from €187.43 to €149.94 (Exide 12/15); from €115.55 to €92.44 (Exide 12/7); and from €88.75 to €72.60 (Exide 12/4). The chargers cover up to 300 Ah and provide an efficient, powerful and fast charge.
