The German automotive giant has announced that at the end of next September it will begin to supply spare parts and spare parts manufactured using this brand new system. Mercedes Benz will supply spare parts and spare parts for trucks made with 3D printers

The first batch of spare parts for Mercedes Benz trucks manufactured with 3D printers will be a set of 30 small original parts such as plastic coatings, gutters and ducts for cables and air, fasteners, clamps and shock absorber cover elements. In a second stage, elements of the vehicle control system will also be developed. According to sources from the German truck company, the supply of the revolutionary spare parts will be "fast and cheap".

Mercedes Benz has ensured that the spare parts made with the laser printer are not only guaranteed the same standards quality of 'conventional' accessories but also their durability, lifespan and functionality. "In addition, the parts manufactured with 3D printers are as profitable as the others," said Andreas Deuschle, director of marketing for spare parts at Mercedes Benz Trucks. Deuschle has advanced that, in the short term, the German brand "will develop the manufacture of more parts in 3D printers very quickly." The reason is that laser printing technology "offers more possibilities", added the Mercedes Benz manager.

Parts for Mercedes Benz trucks are "printed" using an advanced 3D printing process called Selective Laser Sintering (SLS).The system allows specific parts to be ordered thanks to their numbering and cataloguing, which guarantees that the supply can be maintained correctly and continuously for years, because the printing data is recorded and safeguarded. As the raw material to manufacture the 3D spare parts is common to all, it is not necessary to store them since they will be manufactured on demand. Costs are also saved because there will be no waste material, which improves environmental protection.

While the procurement and ordering of truck parts becomes widespread en Mercedes Benz manufactured with 3D printers at Recambiosdelcamion.com we will continue to have the entire reference catalog of the German brand, as always at the best prices, accessible from the following link: http://www.recambiosdelcamion.com/precios/mercedes .
