Freight transport is consolidated as the most outsourced service in logistics

96.6% of the services that are outsourced in logistics is transport, according to the conclusions of the Barometer of the International Logistics and Maintenance Exhibition (SIL) 2016, recently held.  "Quality, flexibility and savings" are the elements for which freight transport is outsourced, according to the managers who have participated in this study. In order of preferences among managers in the logistics sector, quality stands out first (79.9%), followed by savings (61.4%) and flexibility (52.2%), a value on the rise. Interestingly, the automotive sector is the one that most values flexibility when it comes to outsourcing transport, with 68%.

The textile, retail, automotive, electronics and technology and electronics sectors outsource in a 100% transportation of your goods. The two economic sectors that outsource transport services the least are real estate and construction (77.7%). As far as distribution is concerned (the second most outsourced logistics activity), the main clients are found in the retail and textile sectors. The third most outsourced logistics service is stock management.
