Bad practices in the use of cargo fastening, lashing, mooring and lifting elements cause losses for truck professionals and also accidents
Experts consider it vital to ensure the mooring systems in the transport of goods
Freight transport experts meeting recently in the Italian port of Ravenna have concluded, after intense days of work, that it is vital for the transport sector (both land and sea) to further secure cargo mooring systems. The specialists, convened by the International Propeller Club of the Port of Ravenna, insist that it is necessary to make professionals in the sector aware of the need to correctly use fastening elements such as lashings, moorings, lifting and dragging slings, winches, hooks , cables and shackles, among other elements.  The technicians gathered in Ravenna assure that the problems with the lashing systems originate  "many losses and damages in the loads", with the consequent damage for the transport professionals, such as truckers and drivers of commercial vehicles. The bad practices in the preparation of the load and in the subsequent tying of the same in the trailers and the boxes of the trucks are behind the majority of the cases of damage to the merchandise and even of traffic accidents, according to the experts.

The professionals who have attended the Italian event recommend that the "Code of Practice for the Packaging of Transport Units" (popularly known as the CTU Code) be strictly followed and that it defines a code of practice for the management and preparation of the merchandise for its transport both by sea and by land. This code includes articles related to cargo safety but also others related to the safety of people and professionals involved in the entire transport process. Spare Parts Spain We are aware of the importance of correctly securing the load and also of the need to use quality fastening elements, such as those that are part of our catalogue.
